Can I check in yet?
Our official check-in time is 3pm but if you arrive early, we’ll try our best to get you in your room as soon as it’s ready. In the meantime, quench your traveling thirst with a Czech beverage from our bar, relax in the garden or visit our impressive grey-water recycle unit. You can store your bags in our luggage room.
When do I have to leave?
While it’s sad to see you go, check out time for shared room guests is 11am and noon for private room guests. Of course, you are welcome to stay longer and savour your last Czech beverages in our bar & lounge. Luggage storage is available.
Are the shared rooms mixed-gender?
Not all of them. We also have a ladies-only shared room which you can book directly from our website or specify this preference if emailing or calling.
We’re traveling as a group – can we stay in the same room?
If you book a private room, you are assured to be together. Private rooms are available for small groups of 2, 3 and 4. If you have a bigger group, booking it as than one reservation will increase your chances of being in the same room. If you’ve booked separately, you can still try emailing us to let us know your preference. We will do our best to accommodate but without guarantees.
Can I have breakfast at MOSAIC HOUSE?
Of course! You can enjoy our breakfast buffet offering you bottomless coffee, tea & fresh juices, hearty selection of eggs, bacon or sausages, fresh fruits, organic yogurt, homemade muesli and fresh breads from a local bakery. Breakfast is served in La Loca in MOSAIC HOUSE, Mon-Fri 7:00-10:30, Sat-Sun 7:30-12:00. Tip! Buy breakfast at check in for 250 CZK.
Is MOSAIC HOUSE non-smoking?
Indoors, yes. We are one of few fully non-smoking establishments in Prague. Feel free to smoke outside in our front courtyard.
Do I have to pay for internet access at MOSAIC HOUSE?
Nope, we offer free Wi-Fi throughout the house. Or if you are traveling without a computer, use our guest computers located in the Lounge.
Do you have a phone? Can I call anywhere?
Yes. Our reception staff can help you make local phone calls. Unfortunatelly, this service is limited only on the territory of the Czech Republic.
Can I have a towel?
Yes. For guests staying in a shared room, a towel can be rent from reception for a fee of 80 CZK/small towel or 150 CZK/big towel. For guests staying in private rooms, towels are provided.
Can I borrow a hairdryer, iron, or adapter?
Yes. These items (hairdryer and iron) can be borrowed for free from reception. We’ll ask you to leave a deposit, but you’ll get it all back once the item is returned. The adapter can be purchased for 200 CZK.
Does MOSAIC HOUSE offer laundry facilities?
Yes, we have do-it-yourself washing machines and dryers on site for 280 CZK. If you have limited time (or are feeling a bit lazy), we also offer an out-of-house laundry service. Ask about both at reception.
Does MOSAIC HOUSE have a guest kitchen?
Of course we do! And if you don’t feel like cooking, visit our restaurant La Loca is conveniently located on the ground floor of MOSAIC HOUSE, offering affordable eats (burgers and traditional pub fare) and drinks (rocking cocktails, spirits, Czech beer and more).
Will my things be safe at MOSAIC HOUSE?
For the safety of our guests and their belongings, we offer:
secure luggage room (BYOL*), lockable storage boxes under shared room beds (BYOL*), pin-code safes in all the private rooms and Penthouses, safety deposit boxes for small valuables for additional fee, key card entry for room, 24-hour reception
*BYOL (bring your own lock). If you do not have your own, you can purchase a padlock at reception.
What else does MOSAIC HOUSE offer?

How can I pay?
You can pay in cash in the local currency, Czech Koruna (“crown”) / euros or pay by credit card (“crown”) at no incremental fee (Visa, Visa Electron, EuroCard/MasterCard, and Diners Club).
I don’t have a credit card. Can I still make a reservation?
If you do not have a credit card, or cannot use it, unfortunately we can only inform you about our occupancy and prices. The only time we accept reservations not secured with a credit card is if you pay via bank transfer ahead of time or in cash directly at reception.
I need a visa for the Czech Republic. Can MOSAIC HOUSE fax my reservation confirmation to the embassy so I can apply?
Yes. If you require a letter confirming your reservation with our company stamp and signature in order to apply for a visa, please allow up to 3 days’ time for us to prepare it. We also require a non-refundable pre-payment for the whole staying. Is there anything interesting going on while I’m in Prague?

Do you provide a map of Prague?
Yes! You’ll get our customized map of Prague full of great helpful information and recommendations of our favourite places to eat, shop, sightsee, and more. Please, in the name of green, don’t lose your map!
How close is MOSAIC HOUSE to the main Prague attractions?
Close indeed! We are centrally located at Karlovo náměstí, near the National Theatre and just a short walk from Prague’s famous Charles Bridge and Old Town Square.

How do I get to MOSAIC HOUSE from the airport, train stations, or bus stations?
Please visit our contact page for directions from every which way. MOSAIC HOUSE also recommends an airport shuttle service to and from the Prague airport.
How does public transportation work in Prague?
Rule #1: buy a ticket and make sure you stamp it either on the tram or bus or just before entering metro. You can buy tickets in most tobacco stores or yellow boxes in the metro or at tram stops (coins only). If you have a working phone, you can also buy tickets via a text message. Text DPT24 or DPT32, depending if you will be travelling for 30 or 90 minutes, to 90206. Metros and trams run from 5am till midnight, between midnight and 5 am you can make use of night trams (number in the 50s, for example 51, 52, etc.).With the number marked in a different colour on the schedules.

Can you pick me up at the airport?
MOSAIC HOUSE recommends an airport shuttle service at a fair price (1-4 people for 790 CZK total; 5-8 people for 1 100 CZK total). Please email us (firstname.lastname@example.org)the informations including your name, number of passengers, arrival date and time, airline, flight number, flight origin, and mobile phone number. If you are a group more than 9 people, contact directly the reception.
How is Prague for taking a taxi?
In general, taxis don’t have the greatest reputation in Prague due to dishonest drivers overcharging their passengers. The city has been trying to fight this problem by installing taxi stands and performing spot checks. The situation has improved, but it’s best to be careful by using an established and reputable company like AAA RadioTaxi, Tick Tack or CityTaxi. They are not overpriced and the operators speak English. Call 14014 for AAA RadioTaxi or +420 721 300 300 for Tick Tack.
Where is the closest parking garage to MOSAIC HOUSE?
The closest parking is just around the corner from MOSAIC HOUSE. Only 600 CZK/day. Tip! Park in front of MOSAIC HOUSE, check in and ask reception for directions to our secured parking lots.
