What's black, white, and green all over?
Alongside such other unique hotels as a knight's chamber and water tower, Mosaic House was selected by the Czech newspaper as one the country's most interesting for being so green!
Since the article is in Czech, we've tried our best to provide a translated snapshot for you. So read on and as always, thank you for supporting and sharing our eco-endeavors.
Most Interesting Hotels in the Czech Republic: Mosaic House, Prague
You will surely leave this hotel feeling a little more green. As the greenest hotel in the Czech Republic, Mosaic House uses quite the efficient processes. Firstly, the building uses a double system (a water and sewer system) which recycles water. In the basement, there are special tanks that filter and clean the water which is then subsequently used to flush the toilets. You can even watch the filtration process (via greywater recycle unit) in the hotel.
Further, the windows use special sensors to conserve energy so when opened, automatically turn off heating or cooling. And the sunlit parts of the building open or shut blinds according to outdoor temperatures (preventing overheating). Sensors also react to the movement of people - when they exit a room, the temperature adjusts accordingly. Mosaic House also uses energy efficient lighting and has solar panels on the roof.
Mosaic House invites guests to join the eco-movement, encouraging shorter showers and recycling, for example. Guests are also able to contribute two euros for the continuation and improvement of the hotel’s green initiatives.
