The Designblok exhibition returns for the 14th time and brings you new pieces from the ever evolving world of design. Designblok takes place in selected showrooms, boutiques and galleries situated all over Prague. You can visit the Superstudio - with exhibitions dedicated to uniqueness, craftsmanship and luxury, Openstudio - which presents the work of designers, design studios and schools and let's not forget about the Premier Fashion Week - with pop up boutiques and fashion exhibitions. The New York Times called it: “One of Prague's most innovative musical undertakings” because this festival is a musical crossroads where genres mix and mingle, and where tradition meets experimentation. The festival presents a selection of Jazz, Classical, crossover, early era and world music, brought to you by some of the best performers on the contemporary music scene. The recommended show for October is Sonny Rollins on October 31 in Lucerna's Grand Hall ‐ AKA the saxophone Jazz legend! Tickets start at 650 CZK and are available through the festival's website. Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra ‐ October 20, 2012
The American singer Amanda Palmer returns to Prague after two-years away and brings with her a new project called The Grand Theft Orchestra. That mixes alternative Rock with Cabaret! The former member of the band Dresden Dolls has managed to produce her latest album in a revolutionary way ‐ she received more than a million dollars from her fans, which helped her to create the album without a record company. It also made this world tour possible! Her show in Prague tales place at Palac Akropolis, tickets are 760 CZK and are available through Ticketpro offices.
