Mosaic House wins Global Energy Award!

Two months ago, Mosaic House Prague hotel was announced as one of three nominees for the prestigious Energy Globe Awards, with the final winners chosen by public votes (within Czech Republic). Friends, locals, partners, guests, family, and all others who believe in Mosaic House’s green initiatives had 60 days to vote and spread the word in Czech Republic and around the world.
The winners were recently revealed on Czech's main television channel, the live program featuring eight eco category awards plus spectacular entertainment. Relive our moment of green glory (around 62:45).

Mosaic House Continues to Drive Eco-Change
We've taken green to the streets with our own uniquely-designed E.ON Mercedes smart ed (electric drive) vehicle. With only 25 E.ON smart eds in all of the Czech Republic, Mosaic House is the first hotel in the country to drive the fully-electric vehicle (currently unavailable for retail-purchase until 2012 or beyond). When not zipping around Prague, spot the green machine parked outside, plugged in and charging (with 100% green electricity, of course)!
Mosaic House, an eco-pioneer!
As of May 1st, through cooperation with partners E.ON and Pragoplyn, Mosaic House is the first hotel in the Czech Republic to use 100% green electricity and gas. Further, Mosaic House will take its green to the streets of Prague driving a uniquely-designed E.ON-Mercedes smart ed (electric drive) vehicle. The newest eco-attributes build upon Mosaic House’s existing platform of environmentally-friendly technologies. We couldn't think of a bigger (or greener) way to kick off the Spring!
Hooray for Being Green!
The awards are in! Mosaic House received the Hostelbookers 2011 Award for Excellence as top Eco-Friendly property, as voted by travellers themselves. Learn more about the green things we do.
Mosaic House Receives Top Honour
Mosaic House was recently voted #1 New Hostel at Hostelworld's Hoscar Awards in London. On top of that, the Bohemian Hostels group (comprised of Mosaic House, Sir Toby's, Miss Sophie's and Czech Inn) received top accolades as well.

It’s been a long time coming, but we're finally open! Built in 1935, this Functionalist structure was previously a union building and then a bank...and we’ve retrofitted it to be the best blend of old and new. The space boasts a stage, which is still in place in our Belushi’s Bar, and throughout the building, the latest environmentally-friendly features are in place to make Mosaic House as green as possible.
