July was a little moody on the weather front but the August nights seem to bring in the right midsummer's dream. Relax in a park with a cold one or head to a show if you're feeling rock'n'roll! Here are the best bits of Prague in August.

Foo Fighters ‐ August 15, 2012

These American rockers have had a great year with the brightest moment so far probably being winning five out of the six Grammy awards, they were nominated for. One of them was Rock Album of the Year for their latest release, Wasting Light, which they’re now touring to promote. They will stop by Prague and play the O2 Arena on August 15. Red Hot Chili Peppers ‐ August 27, 2012

The Californians return to Prague after six years and will perform an open air show at the Synot Tip Arena, this time around. Tickets start at 1490 CZK and are available through Ticketpro offices.

Beatsteaks ‐ August 31, 2012

Beatsteaks are a German Punk-Indie-Alternative band and they've been around for a while. It's been a whole 17-years since their first performance as a support act for the Sex Pistols and since then they've become pretty good at making their own fans happy with amazingly energetic concerts! Beatsteaks will play in one of Prague's new and hip venues - MeetFactory. Tickets are 395 CZK and you can buy them through Ticketpro offices.

Invisible Exhibition ‐ All Month

The Invisible Exhibiton gives you a unique oportunity to experience the world that blind people live in, every day for one hour. It will leave you in darkness and you can only find your way around by touch, sound and scent. Visitors will be lead by blind people, through seven differently furnished places and put in situations like crossing a road or paying in a restaurant. The other part of the exhibition shows objects which are used by blind people every day. Invisible Exhibition takes place in the New Town Hall on Karlovo namesti. Entrance is 180 CZK for adults. Magical Music Machines ‐ All Month

This exhibition is a must see for the musical nerds. It tells the story of self-playing musical instruments (automatophones) from the sixteenth century, to the present day. You can see carillons, musical clocks, flute clocks, musical boxes, polyphons, symphonions (musical boxes), barrel organs, automatons, orchestrions, player pianos and contemporary electronic playing machines! Also on display are rare items such as a Rebanjo playernaissance Trauttmansdorff clock with carillon and fairground organs. Doesn't that sound simply amazing?! The exhibition can be found in the Czech Museum of Music in the Old Town. Entrance is 100 CZK.
