The Name
The name Mosaic House was chosen to convey a place where many different people from many different places, cultures and backgrounds could all come together in harmony. That diversity makes it a better and more interesting place to stay. To this end Mosaic House offers a full range of accommodation options from dorm beds to roof-top premium double ensuites.
The Building
The name came before the building but interestingly enough the building is one big mosaic – both the façade and the interior. The existing building featured mosaic artworks at the top of the stairwell, over the main entrance and on either side of the theatre bar. It was just meant to be.
Design
At Mosaic House functionalism meets modern-chic. Designed by dynamic Czech architect Tereza Koucká (and her team Tek Tek) with a keen eye for the finer details, all rooms are full of character and designed with passion. Tereza and the team started with a 1930’s box of a building and turned it into a designer’s dream with incredible details and fantastic spaces. Make sure to check out the sofa snake, a design element extending from restaurant into theatre bar, with the purpose of creating social interaction between guests from all walks of life.

Mosaic House is a joint partnership between the owners of the Bohemian Hostel group (Sir Toby’s, Miss Sophie’s and Czech Inn) and the Beds and Bars group (St Christopher’s Inns and Belushi’s Bars).
The Bohemian Hostel group story dates back to 1999 when Sir Toby’s opened with just ten beds and no guests for one week. Ten years and thousands of guests later, this business has grown to include the boutique Miss Sophie’s and the chic Czech Inn. The most recent addition is the eco friendly - Mosaic House.
